I accidentally discovered GCASH when I was still around 14 years old after digging up the SIM Menu of my phone. Being a curious cat I am, I searched it up on the internet and learned that GCASH can be useful when purchasing things online. Later on, I found myself purchasing on Sulit.com.ph sellers (now OLX) and I’ve been using GCASH for 6 years now.

Mid November when I received a text from GCASH that there is this new card wherein I can purchase things online that accepts MasterCard Credit Cards so I looked for the available caravans near me and there is one at Ayala Malls in Cebu. I went there to apply and the process went smoothly as I am already KYC’d.

The staffs there told me when we wrapped up that I can already use the card in swiping and online purchase as early as the next day. Can’t wait to use my card, I tried linking it to my PayPal account and voila, it is now usable! I’ve used it on Uber and it works too! Tried it in SM Cinemas by swiping and the results are smooth.

One thing GCASH MasterCard is better than PayMaya for me is that GCASH Cash-in can be done via Cebuana Lhuillier branches which are found almost anywhere while PayMaya is only available at 7/11 and other establishments that can only be found in the cities. However, in terms of refund procedures, I don’t like how GCASH works because it will take 10 or more business days and you need to contact their support team whereas PayMaya does it automatically within 2-5 days. Overall, I still like GCASH despite the flaws.
